Next Gen Rise Project

Rev. Ada Rivera Tampa, FL

2024-25: In today’s rapidly changing world young people in our community lack the necessary skills to cope with our societal changes. Next Gen Rise aims to provide tools to become effective leaders and agents of positive change in the community. Understanding that youth who actively participate in the planning of youth events cause a greater impact in their community then when they do not play an active role. This grant will allow young people to be a part of the planning, connections, and involvement in creating the change they want and need. Having an active role in the planning process will create connections and engagement within each other as well as the community. This will allow them to promote and develop character and leadership skills all while building on our main core values family, faith, and community. As a faith-based project we understand the importance of building links between youth, families, and community. The expectation is that promoting family, faith and community will help youth build a strong value base when making decisions and prevent potential risky behaviors in the future. Building a community allows youth the opportunities to build positive developmental settings, incorporate opportunities for physical, social, and emotional development, community service and interact with caring and diverse peers.
